This is a great rose to not just glou glou, but also has enough structure to enjoy with a heftier meal! Lovely rock notes alongside what you hope you get out of these wines like juicy melons and strawberries, yum!

From the winemaker: These vineyards are separated by fences only so the soil and geography are almost identical. The Zinfandel is about 10 years older so it’s bringing complexity and as a clone, juiciness in general. In this instance I believe the Zinfandel is thriving a little more in the Sandy and granite soils. Now the Primitivo is bringing the acidity. This block stays a little cooler because of its position on the hill, a little lower and westward. I think the Zin by itself would be a fruit bomb and we’ve seen the Primitivo by itself which can be very zippy. The blend works well. These two grapes are clones of the same progenitor with the Primitivo staying about 10 days ahead of the Zinfandel with regards to ripeness. I pick at the same time because it solves the problem I have with each. It reduces acids in the Primitivo and stops sugar build up in the Zinfandel. This year having put the Rose through full ML I think we have found the right process
